THUS WE DID ACT 2005

The vision and commitment of a group of compassionate people collectively working for the common goal of providing Care, Universal Love and Unconditional Charity to those less privileged sisters and brothers and children around us.................................................
thus taken the birth - ACT Foundation.

Just over 22 months of operation and still in the infancy and having a teething problems yest, it's only with the sincere and unconditional support of lot of kind hearted souls we had managed to touch many a lives in 2005 as well.

It's indeed a matter of pride for all of us individually and collectively to notice and take a look at those positive acts we could manage. In retrospect, I am sure and strongly believe that words will not be able to express that feelings of those kind-hearts who had volunteered to support individual cases as well to ACT as an organization.

A journey back to the memory lane, from July 2004 since ACT Foundation formally registered at the Dubai Humanitarian City, it started then. As we moved on we had never drifted from the Vision visa vis : To disseminate the power of positive action beyond boundaries, so as to provide a better life for the less fortunate and help them be reasonably self-sufficient, while constantly pursuing the eventual goal of creating ACT villages for deprived children.

Our motto is A positive ACT a Day which had helped many individuals to evolve further in their life; by enabling personal evolution through collective positive actions, to become true global
citizens by propagating universal love, unconditional charity and care beyond all man-made boundaries such as caste, creed, religion.

2005 started with the call for World support to the Tsunami affected people in Indonesia/SriLanka and in India. ACT Family in no time had gathered in Dubai and Chennai, collected as much as relief material which included dry food - rice/pulses and clothes. These were sent to mainly SriLanka thro' Red Crescent office in Dubai. ACT Tamilnadu co-ordinator personally visited the affected areas and joined in the relief operations at Nagapattinam.

Mother nature took her turn in different forms as Katrina in New Orleans and Earth Quake in Pakistan and the Mumbai Floods. With in the limited resources we had managed to gather relief material and reach thro various Government bodies as and when possible.

In terms of support to individual requests in 2005, ACT Foundation supported many...a few of them, Mrs. Mala Mangalika[SriLanka] and Mrs. Kumud Kumari also from SriLanks for cancer treatment. It's with the sole and single handed support of one individual from Dubai this was possible. This sponsorship support is going on for a period of one year and we expect to continue supporting her till she completely recovers.

ACT Foundation had conducted a series of Blood Donation camps at Al Wasal Hospital in Dubai. Many volunteers had been coming forward for donating Blood and this is a truly remarkable achievement from an organization who is still in it's infancy.

In India, ACT had supported many individuals in terms of getting proper medical attention, providing funds, arranging the best check-ups, supporting students to join/complete/enroll for various courses - higher studies. List is endless. All these were possible only with the tremendous support and help with ACT family members spread world-wide.

Remarkable and true to the core principles i.e Universal Love and Unconditional support ACT in India joining with M/s. Sneham Charitable Trust had rehabilitated 17 AIDs affected people on 26 May 2005. These people mainly belongs to 17-27 years of age, ostracized by the society. Not only this, further Ammucare India [ ACT - India] and Sneham jointly are also involved in providing a pension to the AIDs affected people.

Universal Love, a subject deep in itself...ACT Foundation and ACT Family always believed in the expressions [act, word or thoughts] and
proved it umpteen times from those days [ long or shor-time] and no better way to reinforce this message to the world. Thus the actions were always speaking for themselves. On 1 Dec 2005, at the residence of Sri. Sunil Das, Chairman of Sneham and in the presence of Mr. P.K. Mohan, Founder Chairman of ACT other eminent personalities from various sectors of society Mr. Ashokan and Ms. Ajitha , both of them affected with AIDS and rejected by society, got married.

Another important achievement was the launching of the Blood Donation Helpline in Kerala. ACT in India also helped Mr. Suresh, for Kidney Transplant, Mrs. V for Open Heart Surgery at Chennai.
Ms.Ambili, outstanding sports athlete got support from ACT to represent India in World Senior Women Power Lifting
Championship held in Finland [ 25-29 May ] who came out with flying colors in the tough fight.

Mr.P.K. Mohan,Founder Chairman also had conducted a one-day workshop for the 3D Club of Government Victoria College, Kerala on 19 August.

Friends, though we managed to help and extent support in whichever possible ways we could, in most of the cases time was an issue. Especially in cases of supporting medical treatment. Therefore ACT as organization needed/require funds to help these cases for which we never had reasonable time to organize.

Still, ACT Foundation, the organization had prepared and approved the Constitution through an eminent Lawyer in Dubai. Post the approval from the board, ACT Foundation Constitution was also approved by Dubai Humanitarian City [DHC]. The constitution is mandatory for the bank account as well at the DHC.

With lots of difficulties such as rejection of our application by at-least 3 major banks in Dubai, finally we managed to get our Bank Account with

Emirates Bank International P.S.J.C.
Current Account : Account Number is 078-765723-001,
Dubai World Trade Centre Branch.

The time and resources available with us then and now is very limited. It's always on a war-footing and or fire-fighting since most of us are here salaried class. Further as a registered non-profitable organization we have a along way to go to reach our milestone of the ACT Villages. Road ahead of us is a signal as well as a path to reach our goal. We have the whole ACT Family driving with us on this road with only sincerity and self-less commitment striving to reach our milestone.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is
doubled. Let ACT Foundation be this platform for all of us to be the sharing partners in the griefs of those less fortunate and try and help as much as possible by us, thus doubling the joy of giving Now. Therefore it's ACT Now.

Do visit both our sites www.ammucare.org as well as www.actfoundation.org, for regular updates.

In the new year and days ahead, we expect to receive requests from individuals for medical/educational supports as well as in any other form. Further when mother nature get furious, to an extent our scientists can only predict but not able to stop, most of the times the World expect NGOs and Charity organizations to REACT fast. Resources and time, being the main constraints against generate funds at these times of natural calamities.
Further as an organization also we have administration overheads at DHC and in India. Plans are to conduct events and other fund raisers to support such cases and enable us to meet the running expenses. This is on one-side
